Boating Destination: Falmouth Harbor

Falmouth is the main port of entry to Cape Cod destinations. Falmouth Harbor, the central harbor in Downtown Falmouth is a good harbor, one of the largest natural harbors in the world and protected from the elements, making it a calm and quiet place. Being on Cape Cod's southwestern tip. Falmouth is perfect for taking off to the other islands, by ferry trip to Martha's Vineyard. the Elizabeth islands along Buzzards Bay, Cuttyhunk, Newport, Nantucket, the Cape Cod Canal and Bourne, Onset, Marion and Mattapoisett.

Charter boats and cruise boats have a home dock at Falmouth harbor too. Fishing charters leave early in the morning, manned by captains knowledgeable about the Cape's richest fishing grounds and location of desired fish like tuna and striped bass, to the satisfaction of their passengers!

Mashpee Marinas

Mashpee, MA is another boater's paradise, and there are several marinas in the area that cater to both seasonal and year-round boaters. Here is a rundown of some of the top marinas in Mashpee and what amenities they offer.

  1. New Seabury Marina: This marina is located at the entrace to Popponesset Island and offers slip rentals, fuel services, pump-out services, and boat storage. The marina also has several amenities including a picnic area, showers, restrooms, and a playground. It is located close to several shops and restaurants, making it a great place to spend a day out on the water.

  2. Mashpee Town Marina: The Mashpee Town Marina is located on Mashpee-Wakeby Lake and offers seasonal and year-round slip rentals. The marina also has a boat launch, fuel services, and pump-out services. The lake is perfect for fishing, swimming, and water sports.

Falmouth Marina

Falmouth Town Marina, Cape Cod, is conveniently located at Scranton Avenue in the historic Falmouth downtown. It is less than 5 miles from Martha's Vineyard and 3 miles from Woods Hole, quite an easy walk to downtown Falmouth, the main street, beaches, grocery shops and many restaurants. The Falmouth Marina is composed of seven floating finger piers and 108 total berths with the main transient float D right in front of the marina building.

Seasonal slips are issued for rent when there are available spaces. Tide's Bulkhead (flat wall tie up) on the east side, Davis Bulkhead and Davis Floats on the north end of Falmouth Harbor mouth are provided for large ships to dock. The marina is fully staffed daily from 8 am to 8 pm in July and August. Bathrooms and showers in the marina building are solely yachtsmen-only, who are issued a key card for access. Vehicles are allowed to park overnight with a permit issued by the office when you check in. There are public restrooms on site. Wi-Fi is available only in front of the main marina building area.

Falmouth Marine & Yachting

On the west side of the harbor and north of the inlet, Falmouth Marine has a complete line of services to offer. from transient dockage, (15 slips and 15 moorings on Falmouth Inner Harbor) with transient slips available all summer long, upon confirmation with the Dockmaster; fuel, pump out, engine and hull repair, bottom painting, hauling and launching - up to 70 ton, Travel Lift, storage - inside, outside and wet winter storage accommodating up to 00 boats, and more.

North Marine

North Marine offers waterfront services catering to small-mid sized boats. Located near the head of Falmouth Harbor on the east bank, it does not have transient slips services; however it does have a full program of marine services on hand, fuel, service, repair and storage. It is open daily Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Pier 37 Marina 

Pier 37 Marina is conveniently located in Falmouth Inner Harbor, and just a short drive over the Bourne Bridge, Massachusetts.

It is a valet facility that has accommodations for up to 50ft dockage, offers outside winter storage and fuel, mechanical, cleaning/waxing services, with an on-site restaurant called the Pier 37 Boathouse with oceanfront dining and parking access available.

East Marine

The East Marine Marina, built in 1952, is the second-largest provider of marine fuel on Cape Cod among all the other marinas. Among its many services are moorings, dockage, inside storage and outside winter storage, mechanical services and cleaning-waxing services.

Like a good number of the Cape's marinas, East Marine fuel dock is open daily the whole week in the summer months from 8:00 am t0 4:00 pm, and Monday-Friday the rest of the year, with access to parking services.
